Local Auto Dealers Make a Difference

Local Auto Dealers Make a Difference

Miami, FL – Throughout the years, the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association, sponsors of the annual Miami International Auto Show, has made significant contributions to a host of worthwhile non-profit organizations in our community.

For more than 40 years, the Association has donated over $7 million to numerous charities that include Joe DiMaggio Hospital, YMCA, Alzheimer’s Association Sheridan House, Museum of Art, American Cancer Society, Historic Society of Fort Lauderdale, and others.

“We are proud of the dedication and commitment our dealers have shown in helping to make a positive difference in communities all across South Florida,” said Richard Baker, president of the dealers group.  “Charitable giving in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties remains a primary focus of our Association.”

This year, the auto show will again donate $15,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida, bringing the total during the years to nearly $350,000. The Ronald McDonald House® (RMH) is a temporary "home-away from home®" for families to find rest, support and time away from realities of the hospital procedures and routines. The Miami House opened its doors in 1981 and is located on the campus of the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital.
